Hubert & Co becomes part of the ESSER Group

(Göttingen) Markus Esser will take over the traditional book manufacturer Hubert & Co on 1 August 2022 and continue business operations at the Göttingen site.

The previous Managing Director Ramona Weiß-Weber and the proven team in production and administration will remain in the new constellation, thus guaranteeing continuity and stability in the face of change.

With around 130 employees at two locations in Bretten and Ergolding, the ESSER Group is one of the leading digital printing companies in Europe. Diana and Markus Esser have been focussing the company for years on sustainability, value orientation and a keen eye on new markets.
Maximum flexibility is the basic maxim for the development of the family business in a dynamic environment of rapidly changing customer requirements. "The addition of Hubert & Co to the group of companies is therefore a logical step for the continued positive development of our fourth-generation family business," says Markus Esser, explaining this step. "The acquisition of the renowned Hubert & Co. will make letterpress printing an even more central part of the ESSER Group in the future," Markus Esser continues.

Combining tradition and modernity, Hubert & Co. has been producing high-quality print products for 116 years now. In combination with the ESSER Group's expertise in the areas of automation, print-on-demand and just-in-sequence for industrial customers, enormous potential is to be realised on a solid basis.

"We have been working in partnership with the ESSER Group for many years. Our strategies, our product portfolio and our mentalities complement each other 100 per cent. My team and I are delighted and energised to be joining the ESSER Group. This means we can continue to be a reliable partner for our customers," adds Ramona Weiß-Weber with satisfaction.

"With the takeover, the ESSER Group is continuing its consistent and innovative growth course. We are very pleased to be able to offer such an exceptionally high level of quality and the highest quality bookbindings in our group. This now also underpins our claim to leadership in the upmarket book segment," says Diana Esser, underlining the strategy behind this step.
